How You Can Help - Volunteer

Volunteer
To meet ever-increasing demands as we work to fulfill our mission of education, research, and service, The TMJ Association (TMJA) needs volunteers. Your time and talents would be greatly appreciated in the following areas:
- Office Volunteers – We welcome anyone in the Milwaukee area willing and able to offer skills and expertise on TMJA projects. All skill levels are welcome. Office experience and computers skills are helpful. Hours are very flexible, on a onetime or ongoing basis, for as little as an hour. We need you!
- Science Writers – Your Association publishes an annual science journal, TMJ Science. Professional science writers can assist us by researching and writing about new areas of research applicable to TMJ diseases and disorders. We also need writers to prepare patient information materials and update other publications. We need you!
- Grant Writers – The TMJA is preparing grant applications to supplement funding for our activities. If you or someone you know has experience in grant writing or researching foundations, we need you!
- Patient Representatives – There are occasions when it is important that TMJ patients attend local or national meetings, congressional hearings or other government agency meetings, etc. in order to present the interests and experiences of TMJ patients. If you would like to serve as a patient representative at such events, we need you!
- Media Contact - When reporters contact us about a story on TMJ or implant issues, they often ask us for names and numbers of patients to contact. Frequently, we have very little time to respond. For that reason we want to compile a list of TMJ patients who are willing to talk to the media. we need you!
- Celebrities and Other Key Contacts – If you personally know key government officials, influential business professionals, celebrities, etc. who would lend their support to TMJA; we need you!
- Other Ideas – If you have any other ideas on how to accomplish our goals and mission, we need you!
